Newborn Carry with Receiving Blanket 0 - 3M

This is how to put your newborn baby into the sling in a reclined position. Newborn hold Movie Clip. This is also a movie to see how to use a recieving blanket with the sling. This is a method we highly recommend with newborn babies (as you will see in the pictures below). We recommend the recieving blanket because it will keep your newborn in a proper position while in the sling. Newborn in blanket Movie Clip

To start.

Place receiving blanket
over baby.

Bring baby down in a cradle hold (in arms)
postion and open the pocket.

Let baby's bum fall into the pocket
naturaly. Hold the front of the pocket and gently
bounce baby down ito the pocket.

Pull the receiving blanket out and over
the sling edge to keep the pocket open.

This is how the sling should look across your back.

Breastfeeding in the Sling

Simply lower the pocket to the breast.

To come to the second breast just swing the baby over to the other breast (like a "football" hold).

Once baby is in the pocket adjust the front rail as needed.

Back Carry 14m - Up

This is how to put your Toddler in the sling on your back.

Start with baby in the hip hold position. MAke sure you start with the ring VERY high on the should to end up with proper placement.

Gently swing baby onto your back back, like so.

This is what you should look like from behind (but with a toddler).

Now simply tuck the taill away.

This the look from the front.

Safety Tips and Do's and Don'ts

Always make sure that baby's bum is LOWER than baby's knees. This will provide baby with the maximum comfort.

This is the PROPER alignment of baby in the sling. Make sure baby has nice alignment in the sling. To do this make sure baby's chin is not pressed firmly into their chest. This will naturally happen to a small degree but watch for signeds of HEAVY breathing, grunting, and a greneral discomfort.

This is the WRONG positioning because baby is to far forward. A baby in this alignment will have reduced oxygen flow which is unsafe.

This is where the sling SHOULD be positioned on your shoulder.

This is the WRONG positioning of the sling on the shoulder.
